About Shahid Rana

Shahid is a seasoned community development specialist with 12+ years of demonstrated experience in urban design, community planning, real estate development, commercial corridor development and creative marketing and branding.

Before his role in Business Development at Boxman Studios, Shahid worked as the VP of Business Development at Cooper’s Ferry Partnership in Camden, NJ. There, he lead the division’s portfolio of real estate development projects, city administered small business programs, the city’s clean and safe district and a city-wide marketing campaign.Shahid has also served as the Executive Director of the Fairmount Community Development Corporation(FCDC) in Philadelphia, PA. During his time at the FCDC, he managed the Art Museum Area’s business association and managed two commercial corridor districts.

Through his leadership, Shahid has secured over $5 million in project funding for small business initiatives, managed over $200 million in infrastructure improvements, neighborhood planning initiatives and mixed-use developments. He’s also worked with over 100 small businesses, ranging from mom and pop operations, to Fortune 500 companies.

Shahid earned his Masters in Real Estate Development (MRED) from the University of Maryland’s Colvin Institute of Real Estate Development. He also received a graduate certificate from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design in Charrette Management. Shahid is also a proud alumnus of Morgan State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Environmental Design.
