An Artistic Take on Shipping Containers
February 28, 2014

Earlier this year we had three incredible Charlotte artists visit the Boxman Studios HQ and create a mural on what used to be a blank wall. The mural is something like a catalogue of a fantastical journey of shipping containers from their use in the construction of Stonehenge and Easter Island, to an infinite railyard managed by futuristic robots, to their arrival at Boxman Studios where we fabricate them into other-worldly structures. There is even an homage to the late Malcom McLean, the father of the intermodal shipping container. The artists feel that the intricate yet playful design reflects the creative and innovative minds at work here at Boxman Studios.
Thank you to Matt Hooker, John Hairston Jr., Scott Partridge, and Cluck for your efforts and creativity in this wonderful work of art.
See more images at our Flickr page, and contact us to schedule a visit and see the mural, and our own container artists, for yourself.
