The Lunch Box
Thanks to everyone who entered our contest. The name of the Boxman Studios restaurant is Lunch Box and the winner of the $500 is Shawn Moseley, who was the first one in with the winning entry.
Not only was Lunch Box submitted 7 times out of 151 total entries, but it just works.
And because we can’t thank you enough for all of your help, we’re giving everyone who entered our contest a $10 credit for use at Lunch Box.
We’ll use the blog to keep you updated on the progress of the restaurant as we continue to work with the zoning department to get us up and out there. Our hope is to start serving lunch before the end of the month.
Additionally, we will start tweeting from @cltLunchBox soon, and will keep the Facebook page updated as well. We’ve already started working on the logo, but with a name like this – it won’t take long for the brand to take hold in the community.
Thanks again. We love the name.

If you’ve been following along with us this past month here, you know we conducted a little contest to name our new restaurant, and yesterday we revealed the top five finalists. Today, we reveal the actual name.
Ladies and gentlemen, the name of the Boxman Studios restaurant is…BleuBox. I know what you’re saying, ‘Wait…this name wasn’t in the list yesterday!’ And you’re right. This name was provided by the 5-year old daughter of the brother of the Boxman Studios owner – last night. And it’s so good, we’re running with it. Yes, Stephanie (Punky, as she’s known to her relatives and close friends) is going to receive the $500 in savings bonds so she doesn’t spend it all on Bella Sara cards and Silly Bandz.
We still hope you continue following us, and become a patron of our restaurant, BleuBox.
Thanks for playing. And thanks for being such a great community!
And if you’re still reading, then you’re probably looking for this link.

Tomorrow we will announce winner of the Boxman Studios Restaurant naming competition. Thanks to you, we received more than 150 entries. And there were some really good ones. But they all can’t win, and we need a name quick, so here are the top five names for the restaurant as decided by David Campbell, the owner of Boxman, and Jim Mitchem, copywriter/creative director with smashcommunications.
In no particular order:
Rendezvous - We like consonants like X, Z and V. Which makes a word like Rendezvous so cool. Plus, every time you go anywhere to do something (like eat lunch) it’s a rendezvous of some kind. Add to the fact that our chef is Parisian-trained, and it’s a no-brainer that we have a French name in here amongst the finalists.
The Lunch Box – This was the top name submitted. And it’s really smart. Plus, since the contest began we found out that we’re limited to specific hours of operation (after 8 a.m. and closing before 9 p.m.) that don’t necessarily make it a lunch ‘only’ place, but lunch definitely is the primary meal during those hours.
@las – No, @las is not available on Twitter, but who cares? Atlas works both from a core concept for the shipping container’s that Boxman Studios uses to fabricate the hospitality units (including this restaurant) since these containers travel around the world, and you’ll have to use a map of some kind to locate the restaurant on any given day. Plus, the little guy holding up the box in the logo…based on Atlas.
Loc@tion – A very nice play on the social ‘@’ symbol while also talking to the mobility of the restaurant. Working in the little ‘@’ sign helps reinforce the social aspect that will certainly continue to be a driver for the restaurant.
Guys on the Corner - A little direct? Sure. But direct is good. Just ask Five Guys. Will we always be on a corner? Probably not ‘always’ but the fact that our restaurant contains right angles means that there’s always a corner nearby.
Please remember, some names were submitted multiple times. Yes, our winner will be one of the names above, and no, we won’t name names yet (who sent which in at which time, etc.)
We’ll announce the winner on April 1st. Just kidding. No we’re not.
We’re so excited!

Fast food. It’s easy to find in Charlotte. But fast, organic, delicious, healthy, affordable food is as easy to find as Waldo in his red striped shirt. Our mobile restaurant hopes to change all that. Soon, you’ll be able to grab a quick, good-for-you lunch that will delight your taste buds and your wallet.
Imagine … it’s almost noon on a Wednesday. You’re busy, but famished. You need something quick and tasty that will fuel the rest of your day and not leave you in a hazy food coma like yesterday’s greasy tacos. On Twitter you spy the Boxman Studios mobile restaurant within walking distance of your office! You check out our blog for the menu.
Drool ensues.
You grab your wallet, start walking and begin to dream about your order … should you get the hot Beef and Blue Wrap of shaved roast beef, caramelized onions, smoked bacon, savory fig spread, gorgonzola, oil and vinegar for only 7.29? Or the Cuban Panini with slow cooked ham, pulled pork, pickled vegetables, emantaller and whole grain mustard on a French baguette for 6.99?
Little do you know that the Thin Crust Pizza with wild mushroom, arugula, mozzarella, truffle oil and crisp proscuitto for 6.99 will tantalize you into submission.
Just another ordinary day at the office. But not just another ordinary lunch.
